This project aims to train a new generation of volcanologists who are skilled at managing interdisciplinary understanding and knowledge, who seek innovation, and who cooperate in a cross-sector Open Science environment.

IMPROVE ESRs are trained to develop as independent scientists with a broad vision and high-level experience, capable of translating their knowledge, ideas and skills into scientific breakthroughs, as well as economic and social benefits.

The ESRs’ research-based training is delivered through multidisciplinary teamwork and multiple mentorships, and includes various transferable and soft skills as key training elements.
